 | 11:17 am - untitled [Persona 4, Adachi/Nanako, PG] Title: untitled Author/Artist: starsandtildes Rating: PG Warnings: Nothing in particular. Prompt: Adachi/Nanako, pet names - mon petit chou Word count: 750 Summary: Nanako spends most of her nights in front of the television. A/N: Mon Petit is the actual brand name in Japan, but it being Persona 4, I of course had to take some liberties.
( It sounds like a question Adachi-san *really* wants the answer to, though all his questions sound like that... )

 | 10:10 am - The Next Step (Samurai Deeper Kyo; Benitora × Akira; PG-13)
Title: The Next Step
Author: opalmatrix
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: mild m/m
Prompt: Samurai Deeper Kyo: Benitora × Akira, Testing the lines of friendship, "I found myself wanting sympathy"
Word count: : 1485
Summary: Benitora is there when his old friend needs him.
A/N: Set between the last two chapters of the entire series (306 and 307), but I've tried to finesse any spoilers for volumes 35-38. This story assumes familiarity with canon in vols. 1-34 (the ones released in English so far), so there are some spoilers from those volumes. Beta by the insightful smillaraaq, the always-helpful blue_hobbit, and the surprising kispexi2
( The noise of the common room faded behind them as the roadside inn's host led Benitora back ... ) Current Mood: hopeful

 | 09:42 am - The search for common Star Wars grammer errors So I actually sort of did a half-assed post about this here ages ago (it was about the common misspellings, mostly: Anikin, etc.) but I want to do an entry on CJ about grammatical and factual errors that the media/bloggers makes in stories about Star Wars. (Did we ever get personal journal search? I so need journal search to find that entry. I also posted it on starwars, where the crazyass comm mod deleted it the first time, but I suspect the one here will be easier to find. Best-case scenario: I need both.)
I know Pablo did an entry on his StarWars.com blog about the names of various LFL divisions several years ago - that's one of the things I plan to dig up. And my personal favorite rage inducer: 'Jedis.'
I put this out on Twitter and the blog but I have no idea if I'll get anything. (Well, anything aside from 'everyone hates the PT/the PT was bad,' which is more in the opinion realm and beyond the scope of what I'm looking to do here, though I may address it. We'll see.)

| 02:05 pm - Video: Ewan says nude scenes are “a feminist thing”
http://clubjade.net/?p=18230
Ewan McGregor (with beard!) was on The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson to promote The Men Who Stare At Goats, where he talked about his proclivity for being naked on film. (via)
Meanwhile, io9 says that The Men Who Stare At Goats “echoes the original Star Wars trilogy.” Though shouldn’t Charlie Jane Anders (or her copy editor) know better by now than to use the term ‘Jedis?’
Question: What are the most common grammatical/factual errors you see in media coverage and discussion of Star Wars? Answer here or on Twitter.

 | 12:30 am - Bad Stuff: The Peter Vadala Story (a post with music)

A senior thesis idea for communications major Peter Vadala has turned into a campus-wide "Culture of Life" project that will soon evolve into "College Musical," a movie intended to spread the message of God's grace to secular audiences.
The project started out simply as a script that Vadala was writing for his thesis. When Vadala chose to actually create the movie, the project grew to include nearly 30 musicians, vocalists, actors and technical crew.
At first Vadala's script focused on abortion, but as he revised, he decided to focus on an anti-pornography message. Vadala said he can understand the issue, since he has met men who struggle with pornography. ( That Guy Isn't Me )

 | 08:07 pm - Proof, of a sort, that it's out there... "The two sisters delighted Society by their frequent appearances dressed exactly alike, in blue and white foulard of a morning in Hyde Park, or in exquisite evening dress at parties when the Grand Duchess's jewels were a sight in themselves."
( In which I think in print a bit... )
In looking through the amazingly not water damaged magazines I have from 1902 when Edward and Alexandra were crowned, I did find the sisters in another set of matching dresses. Appeared to be a satin with little clovers. So cute :)
So, while I certainly haven't done much, it appears that there is hope! Current Mood: curious
